This year the ECO group are taking responsibility for our School Prayer Garden.
The ECO group have planned out how they see the garden developing. We are following the ECO Code of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" and plan to use only ECO-friendly things to create our special space.
Already this year we have recycled plastic bottles to create some beautiful poppies to help us remember those who have died during the month of November. We used conkers to make a giant set of Rosary Beads to mark the month of October and we have used leaves to create some crosses. Each pair of ECO reps from each class has also decorated a wooden cross to be displayed in our garden to show that we are all following our school mission of 'listen, learn and grow with Jesus'.
Our future plans are to write to local garden centres for any donations of plants, we would like to grow some herbs to be used in cooking and we intend to purchase some solar lights to show that we are thinking about saving energy.
All of this is done in the knowledge and understanding that God created our beautiful world and that it is our responsibility to look after our world for future generations. Here are some photos of the planning stages of our garden.
We are looking forward to creating the garden after the half term holiday!
We opened our garden on St Elizabeth's day.
