Science

Science at St. Elizabeth’s

Through the science curriculum, we aim for pupils to:

-develop an enthusiasm for and enjoyment of scientific learning and discovery,

-work practically to investigate, experiment and problem solve for themselves,

-gain knowledge and understanding about the world around them and how it works,

-promote respect for the world around us (both living and non-living),

-ask questions about science to develop enquiry skills and knowledge.

Implementation: Science is taught weekly across the school, through planned blocks of work based on a progression of knowledge and skills.  Lessons are as investigative and experimental as possible promoting pupils finding out for themselves through scientific enquiry. An annual science day allows the whole school to study an aspect of science together and educational visits are also used to enrich the science curriculum.
