Writing at St. Elizabeth’s

 

                                                                                         

 

Through the writing curriculum, we aim for pupils to:

-become inspired and enthused writers,

-understand the relevance and importance of writing and how it is used to communicate with a range of audiences and for different purposes,

-gain confidence and proficiency in writing for a range of audiences and purposes across the curriculum,

-gain an understanding of writing a broad range of text types including fiction, non-fiction and poetry,

-develop their ability to communicate effectively through both spoken and written English,

-develop grammar, punctuation and spelling skills,

-gain an understanding of how to use language which engages the reader,

-develop skills which allow children to become thoughtful, reflective and evaluative writers.
